Thank you for reporting a stranded marine mammal to the HSU MMSP!
Our preferred method is for you to submit your report using the link below. Click on the link to submit a Google form directly to the HSU MMSP. You must be logged into a Google account. All of the necessary information will be sent directly
to the program for immediate response.
You can call the HSU MMSP Marine Mammal Hotline at 707-826-3650 at any time to report a stranded marine mammal. Please be sure to leave your name and contact information, the exact location of the stranding and a detailed description of the
marine mammal including, size, shape (seal/sea lion or a whale/dolphin), and level of decomposition. Please also include any information about unusual markings/tags or entanglements.
Finally, you can send an e-mail to the HSU MMSP directly by e-mailing marinemammals@humboldt.edu. In your e-mail, please include your name, contact information, the exact location of the stranding and a detailed description of the marine mammal
including, size, shape (seal/sea lion or a whale/dolphin), and level of decomposition. Please also include any information about unusual markings/tags or entanglements. Please be sure to send a photo of the body and of the head to help us
plan an effective response.
