Agent-Based Models with NetLogo Web
This is a web-based version of NetLogo. Having NetLogo on the web makes it more accessible but it is also slower and has some differences from regular NetLogo.
Getting Started
Follow the steps below to get started in NetLogo Web. Then, I recommend following the NetLogo tutorials.
- On the NetLogo web site, select "NetLogo Web".
- I recommend going through some of the samples in the "Models Library" to familiarize your self with the capabilities of NetLogo. Then, continue.
- Click in the "Search the Models Library" and then search for "Wolf".
- Select the "Sample Models/Biology/Wolf Sheep Predation" model.
- From here, you can go to the NetLogo tutorial that will introduce you do the elements of NetLogo. Note that some things are different like I have not been able to find the "Settings" button.
You can continue through the tutorials but notice that NetLogo Web does not include all the features of NetLogo.
To create a new model:
- Click the "New" button in the upper left.
- Then, click on the "Mode" to change it to "Authoring".
- This will give you an empty screen. On top is the "model speed". Moving the slider to the left will make the model go faster, to the right will make it go slower.
- The black area is the "View" and the green area on the left is for setting controls. The bottom sections are labeled with the names used in the tutorials and the arrows on the right will open and close each section.
- Right click in the green area and you'll see a popup menu of various settings controls. Select "Create Button".
Repleast right clicking int the green area to add additional controls.
