EPSG Web Portal

This web portal provides access to the EPSG Database of spatial references. The CRSes web page allows all the Coordinate Reference Systems that are wihtin the EPSG Database to be searched. The Datums page provides a list of the datums defined in the database.

Searching Coordinate Reference Systems (CRS)

You can filter the results by specifieing the Kind of CRS, the Datum associated with the CRS, or by entering search terms such as ("UTM zone 10N"). You can also Order the results by the Name of the CRS, the EPSG Code, or the Kind of CRS.

The available Kinds are:

• vertical
• geocentric
• engineering
• derived
• geographic 3D
• geographic 2D - these are Geographic Coordinate Systems typically used in 2D GIS.
• compound
• projected - these are the Projected Coordinate Systems typically used in 2D GIS.

Search tips:

• If you are looking for a UTM projection, enter "UTM zone " followed by the zone.
• For state plane projection, enter the name of the state in the search box.
• For other projections, limit the results by selecting the Kind, then the Datum, and then entering search filters.
