Learning Module: LiDAR - Light Detection and Ranging
Introduction
LiDAR or Light Detection and Ranging is an active remote sensing technique that uses light in the form of lasers to measure precise distances and location. Lidar can generate highly accurate three dimensional models of the Earth's surface and other features. Lidar system allow scientist and engineers to examine and measure natural and man made features with a high level of accuracy and precision. It can also be used to 3-D rendering and mapping to allow for unique visualization of data.
