What is Remote Sensing?

At it's most basic, remote sensing is the science of obtaining information or data about objects or areas from a distance. Remote sensing has a wide range of applications in many different fields, including forestry, environmental science, geography, urban planning ans many more. In the recent years remote sensed data has become a part of our everyday life. From satellite imagery used in maps to weather forecasting, remote sensing is a powerful tool that can provided valuable information and data.
