ABOUT

The Eel River and its tributaries form the third largest watershed in California. The river flows northward through five counties and covers over 3,684 square miles reaching from the Pacific ocean 10 miles south of Fortuna down through coastal ranges just west of the Sacramento valley.

The Eel river is made up of four main tributaries the Van Duzer, North Fork, Middle Fork and South Fork and the wildlife area includes one of the largest riparian forests in Northern California.
